Charity Foundation

The Suffolk County Bar Association Charitable Foundation was founded in 2005 with  a bequest from a client of Joseph Hanshe, Esq., a  former SCBA Director and the Foundation's first Managing Director.

The purpose of the Foundation is to raise monies through fundraising efforts and to utilize the funds for educational and charitable purposes, including the improvement of citizenship and the administration of justice, to increase the understanding and promotion of the law through the award of scholarships and grants and to establish charitable programs seeking to enhance the well-being of individuals, especially children, and to render financial assistance to entities organized and devoted to the realization of charitable purposes within Suffolk County.

Attorneys Needed for Pro Bono Veterans Event

The SCBA Pro Bono Foundation's Pro Bono Project is sponsoring Volunteers for Vets event on May 10, 2016 at the SCBA Headquarters from l:00 to 4:00 P.M  in the Great Hall.  We are reaching out to attorney volunteers to help with free consulations for our veterans.  If you can volunteer for a shift, it would be greatly appreciated.  The areas of greatest need are listed below, but even if these areas are not among your expertise, we will find a way for you to help!  The most common requests for services are in the areas of Family Law, VA benefits, consumer debt, DMV-related issues, criminal, housing (evications and foreclosures), health care and disability benefits.  Please call (631) 234-5511 and volunteer today! Million Dollar Quartet

On Thursday, June 16, 2016, the SCBA's Charity Foundation will host a fund raiser event at the Gateway Playhouse in Bellport, NY with dinner and play for $100.00/person.  The presentation is Million Dollar Quartet, a smash-hit musical inspired by the famed recording session that brought together icons Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins for the first and only time.  The thrilling musical brings you inside the recording studio with four major talents who came together as a red-hot rock 'n'roll band for one unforgettable night.  Don't miss this event.  Click here for flyer
