The Suffolk County Bar Association Charitable Foundation was founded in 2005 with a bequest from a client of Joseph Hanshe, Esq., a former SCBA Director and the Foundation's first Managing Director.
The purpose of the Foundation is to raise monies through fundraising efforts and to utilize the funds for educational and charitable purposes, including the improvement of citizenship and the administration of justice, to increase the understanding and promotion of the law through the award of scholarships and grants and to establish charitable programs seeking to enhance the well-being of individuals, especially children, and to render financial assistance to entities organized and devoted to the realization of charitable purposes within Suffolk County.

Newly Enacted Maintenance Guidelines Legislation - Academy Program
This newly enacted legislation amends both the Domestic Relations Law and the Family Court Act. It established new formulas for maintenance and spousal support. The law puts in place new guidelines for both temporary and post-divorce maintenance and spousal support. It also eliminates "Enhanced Earning Capacity" from equitable distribution. New Bankruptcy Forms: What You Need to Know
December 3, 2015 - 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. As of December 1, 2015, there are significant changes to the Bankruptcy petitions and schedules. The new forms are applicable to Chapter 7, 13 and 11 matters. In addition, there are various changes to other documents such as proofs of claim and other essential forms. This is a must attend CLE. Click here for flyer

The SCBA Board of Directors cordially invite our members to our annual Holiday Celebration on Friday, December 11, 2015, 4 pm - 7 pm. Music by the Just Cause Band and Hors d'oeuvres and desserts by Fireside Caterers. Holiday Toy Drive - Please help us brighten the holiday season for needy children in our greater community.
