The Suffolk County Bar Association Charitable Foundation was founded in 2005 with a bequest from a client of Joseph Hanshe, Esq., a former SCBA Director and the Foundation's first Managing Director.
The purpose of the Foundation is to raise monies through fundraising efforts and to utilize the funds for educational and charitable purposes, including the improvement of citizenship and the administration of justice, to increase the understanding and promotion of the law through the award of scholarships and grants and to establish charitable programs seeking to enhance the well-being of individuals, especially children, and to render financial assistance to entities organized and devoted to the realization of charitable purposes within Suffolk County.

SCBA Annual Judiciary NIght, Thursday, October 8, 2015
An Outstanding Member will be honored for Extraordinary Service to the Legal Community at the SCBA's annual Judiciary Night, Thursday, October 8, 2015, 6 p.m. In anticipating October 8th's annual Judiciary Night, an event that will be given special significance this year, as our former Chief Administrative Judge A. Gail Prudenti will be the Association's honored guest. This event will be held at the Larfield in East Northport, NY. Judge Prudenti, in a recent career change, will now share her countless experiences, her love for the law and public service with the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University in Hempstead, NY where she will begin her new post as executive director of the Center for Children, Families and the Law. She will also serve as a special advisor to the law school dean. click here for flyer
