Annual Meeting, Elections and Awards Recognition

Monday, May 2, the 2016 Annual Meeting will be held at Bar Headquarters starting at 6 pm.  Included in the business to be transacted is the vote on a Bylaws amendment to Article X Judicial Screening Committee. The SCBA leadership wishies to express their continued appreciation to those members who serve on committees, the Board of Directors and the Academy of Law.  Their contributions to the the legal profession and the community have earned them the admiration, respect and affection of the Bench and Bar seldom equaled.  We will also be celebrating and paying tribue to the membrers who have served the legal profession for fifty and sixty years.  Click here for flyer.  


Attorneys Needed for Pro Bono Veterans Event

The SCBA Pro Bono Foundation's Pro Bono Project is sponsoring Volunteers for Vets event on May 10, 2016 at the SCBA Headquarters from l:00 to 4:00 P.M  in the Great Hall.  We are reaching out to attorney volunteers to help with free consulations for our veterans.  If you can volunteer for a shift, it would be greatly appreciated.  The areas of greatest need are listed below, but even if these areas are not among your expertise, we will find a way for you to help!  The most common requests for services are in the areas of Family Law, VA benefits, consumer debt, DMV-related issues, criminal, housing (evications and foreclosures), health care and disability benefits.  Please call (631) 234-5511 and volunteer today! Million Dollar Quartet
