The Suffolk Academy of Law is the educational branch of The Suffolk County Bar Association. The Academy of Law is chartered by the New York State Board of Regents as an educational institution, and as been providing legal education to attorneys for over 30 years.

 

The Academy is also an accredited by the New York State Office of Court Administration as a provider of mandatory New York State Continuing Legal Education.

Annual Ira P. Block Memorial Golf Outing

The Annual Ira P. Block Memorial Golf Classic sponsored by the Lawyer Assistance Foundation will be held on Monday, September 21, 2015 at the Westhampton Country Club, Westhampton Beach, NY.  The Lawyer Assistance Foundation provides confidential assistance to lawyers and judges for alcoholism, drug abuse, health issues and mental health problems.  As this is the only fund raiser of the year, we need your support.  Our honored guest this year is the Hon. SCBA Annual Judiciary NIght, Thursday, October 8, 2015

An Outstanding Member will be honored for Extraordinary Service to the Legal Community at the SCBA's annual Judiciary Night, Thursday, October 8, 2015, 6 p.m.   In anticipating October 8th's annual Judiciary Night, an event that will be given special significance this year, as our former Chief Administrative Judge A. Gail Prudenti will be the Association's honored guest.  This event will be held at the Larfield in East Northport, NY.  Judge Prudenti, in a recent career change, will now share her countless experiences, her love for the law and public service with the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University in Hempstead, NY where she will begin her new post as executive director of the Center for Children, Families and the Law.  She will also serve as a special advisor to the law school dean.   click here for flyer
