The Suffolk County Bar Association Charitable Foundation was founded in 2005 with a bequest from a client of Joseph Hanshe, Esq., a former SCBA Director and the Foundation's first Managing Director.
The purpose of the Foundation is to raise monies through fundraising efforts and to utilize the funds for educational and charitable purposes, including the improvement of citizenship and the administration of justice, to increase the understanding and promotion of the law through the award of scholarships and grants and to establish charitable programs seeking to enhance the well-being of individuals, especially children, and to render financial assistance to entities organized and devoted to the realization of charitable purposes within Suffolk County.

SCBA Receives ABA's Harrison Tweed Award - 2018
Nominated by the Nassau/Suffolk Law Services and awarded for sustaining the Suffolk Pro Bono Project with the goal of increasing the availability of civil legal services to Suffolk County's lower income and disabled population in a variety of practice areas.
