Sealing of Criminal Convictions in NY Under CPLR 160.59-DVD or CD-June 6, 2019

$60.00 each

New York’s recently enacted criminal record sealing law (CPL 160.59) stands to benefit an estimated 600,000 people.  However, since the law went into effect in October 2017, less than 1,000 New Yorkers have sealed their record.  The purpose of this course is to educate fellow attorneys about New York’s new criminal record sealing law, its history, who is eligible, criteria the court is to consider, how to file applications for sealing with the Court, and what more can be done to amend laws to provide second chances for New Yorkers convicted of crimes.
