Topics in Modern Jurisprudence-DVD or CD-December 5, 2019

$120.00 each

This program will present and discuss the most important modern schools or theories of the philosophies of law and justice, commonly referred to as jurisprudence. Although the purpose and orientation of the presentations will be largely theoretical, it is expected that discussion and commentary both among panel members and with the audience will draw numerous “real world” implications and critiques concerning the theories under discussion. The program will close with a discussion of John Rawls’s influential theory of justice as fairness, and contemporary critiques of Rawls’ theory from a feminist and critical race perspective.
