Trauma-Informed & Compassionate Representation in Domestic Violence Matters-October 1, 2020-DVD or CD

Understanding childhood trauma, the spectrum of behavior and recognizing traits in adulthood will enable attorneys to better advocate on behalf of their clients. A trauma – informed legal practice recognizes the role trauma plays in the lawyer-client relationship and works toward improving advocacy through a connection to their client. During this course, you will gain an understanding of trauma, the outcome of the Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACES) Study and what to expect and how to navigate court to best represent your client. The Hon. Patricia Grant Flynn and Hon. John Iliou will discuss an overview of Domestic Violence laws and an update on criminal justice reform.
